I am deeply moved by the strength and resilience of my clients, as they work to find meaning and purpose in their lives, despite challenges, traumas, and losses, that constantly recreate their sense of Self. The work is a collaborative effort between myself and the client towards transforming their suffering, and help them facilitate a deeper relationship with themselves. I utilize an integral approach which encompasses Internal Family Systems, Relational Attachment Based, Somatic and Mindfulness Psychology. I am a certified consultant in both EMDR and Internal Family Systems
I view PTSD as the body and psyche's protective mechanism to adapt in order to survive and cope with overwhelming situations. Minor traumatic experiences can have as much impact as major events over time. Grief may also be ambiguous, such as loss of previous hopes and ideals.
Traumatic stress re-wires a person's nervous system. Therefore several approaches are required to help the body re-regulate its response to stress, and to heal ruptures related to a sense of safety, trust, meaning, and purpose. I have additional training in war trauma, early attachment and childhood trauma.
