Jena A Regan, MA, LPC-S, Counselor in New Orleans
I acknowledge challenges encountered along life’s journey and collaborate with clients to create positive solutions to those challenges. I identify personal strengths, and draw upon them to facilitate individual growth. I consider all dimensions of human experience in my work with clients by exploring mental, biological, social, physical, and spiritual perspectives.
My approach to therapy emphasizes insight, self-awareness and empowerment to help people live better and have more gratifying lives. Through an alliance of trust and collaboration, we work together to understand the meanings of symptoms to rediscover your capacity to make the meaningful choices that are right for you.
If you are working with an infertility treatment center and need a mental health screening in order to proceed with treatment, I can help. I will provide a professional written report that will be sent to your treatment clinic. Evaluations follow the ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) guidelines for infertility psychological screenings.

Jena A Regan's Groups

Overweight Children and Adolescents

Overweight children are at a significantly greater risk for becoming severely depressed, being bullied and developing eating disorders. The emotional side effects of obesity can be crippling. Children struggling with weight issues can experience alienation, anger, embarrassment, school avoidance, low self-esteem, lower grades and social difficulty. Although improvement in self-esteen and outlook may indirectly lead to weight loss in some children, our groups are not intended for weight management. Rather, we focus on each child's emotional well-being, self-acceptance and connectedness to others.
