Welcome to the playroom! Play is the language of children, making it the most effective way to treat their mental health. Play Therapy makes it safe for kids to express things that are too hard to talk about and allows them to process experiences in a way that make sense. Imaginary dragons fought during therapy will help a child figure out how to win the battles of their own life. I use the power of play to join in, letting me see things from their perspective. By fighting these battles together, the playroom becomes a place where kids learn who they truly are and how to cope, resulting in healing, hope and connection.
I am a Registered Play Therapist. I work to translate what a child is communicating through play and reflect it back to them in real time. I also work with caregivers, teaching them tools to understand their child and support their success. Feeling seen, heard and understood in this way leads to emotional growth, insight, and lifelong skills for coping.
Play Therapy techniques can be used at any age! I use non-directive play therapy, sand tray, expressive arts and EMDR to create a safe relationship where my clients can express themselves freely. I have limited space for adults with CPTSD seeking long term treatment. Let's chat - email me if you want to set up a 15 minute consultation.
