I am a former Adjunct Faculty in the graduate program at Cal State Long Beach, and I have a small private practice with a few openings. I work with adults, couples and older teens to help them feel more free, alive and connected with others. Sometimes the work begins by decreasing symptoms such as anxiety, family conflict, depression, trauma reactions, etc. Once those symptoms decrease, the work often evolves into more personal growth work, such as exploring family of origin issues and/or barriers to deeper levels of connection and intimacy.
I have been a therapist for over 15 years. Sometimes therapy with me involves problem-solving specific situations or learning additional skills such as improving communication, but in the end, I believe that having a positive therapeutic relationship is the most essential component.
I am trained in many approaches such as Interpersonal Therapy, Modern Analysis, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR and Group Therapy. I facilitate a weekly process group on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm-8:30pm. This is an interpersonal, analytic group that emphasizes talking about feelings in the here-and-now. The group meets online and in-person intermittently.
