I have been a licensed psychologist for over thirty years. I have worked with all kinds of clients in many different settings, including inpatient, residential, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. In addition, I have taught clinical psychology to doctoral level students as well as supervised many therapists-in-training. Over the years, I have always maintained a private practice. I have seen children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. While I consider myself a seasoned psychologist with a firm grounding in clinical and brain science, my professional stance has always been tempered with a deeply held humanistic orientation.
I approach each client differently. Clients bring in their stories and challenges and I try to be as helpful as possible, drawing on my knowledge, experience, and perhaps even a little clinical wisdom. This eclectic approach has served my patients well over the years.
While I am well versed in many different treatment modalities, I have come to realize that the starting point of effective treatment arises out of a good working connection between client and therapist. I am a believer in therapeutic “chemistry.”
