I am the Director of one of New York's leading psychotherapy centers and lecture internationally on cognitive and schema therapies. I'm an extremely caring, active, engaged therapist. I believe a therapist should be genuine, not play the "role" of a therapist. I can usually conceptualize client problems quickly, get to the emotional core, and "push" clients to change in an empathic way. I look for negative life patterns and help clients to change them.
A top therapist has to balance empathy with confrontation. My main focus is on emotion & relationships. I'm a good problem-solver, and help clients who are successful in a range of fields. You can read about my approach, schema therapy, in "Reinventing Your Life", a self-help book.
Our Center is unique in being more oriented toward offering high-quality therapy and training than making money. I see our Center as a place to develop and refine my schema approach to treatment. Our therapists are selected because they're experienced, warm, bright, and interested in integrating diverse therapy approaches.
