About
It takes courage to seek the help of a therapist. My primary concern when I first meet a client is to respond with empathy and sensitivity to the distress which brings you to my office. In an atmosphere of genuine safety and acceptance we can begin the process of collaborating to understand and resolve your concerns. I draw on a number of theoretical perspectives and more than 20 years of clinical experience to provide therapy that is as effective as possible, in a compassionate, confidential and comfortable setting.
My focus is on helping you to empower yourself to create the changes you want in your life and relationships.
My primary specialty is in helping individuals whose lives are being disrupted by past psychological traumas (abuse, accidents, violence), to find stability and resolution--to feel better and function better.
I am also dedicated to helping individuals with eating disorders, dissociative disorders, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, and problems having to do with negative emotions, such as anxiety and depression. My experience extends to adults, adolescents and children.
