Jeff Buikema's Groups
Marriage Enrichment (ME)
The Marriage Enrichment Group (ME) consist of four to six couples coming together to learn new skills and strategies to improve the dynamics of their relationship. Topics of discussion cover communication, conflict resolution, personal style and habits, finances, leisure time, roles and responsilities, parenting issues, family and friends, in-laws, sexuality, family of origin, faith and spirituality. The goal of each ME is to enhance the couple's relationship by providing new information, role playing, and modeling of new attitudes, behavior and coping skills.
Alcohol/Drug Education/Treatment (DWI/OWI/DUI)
I provide drug and alcohol groups meet on a as needed basis. They fulfill the state requirements for those who have been convicted of a DWI or OWI. I offer them at both clinics, in Winona, Minnesota and La Crosse, Wisconsin. I also provide private and confidential alcohol and drug assessments and counseling for individuals. In addition, I am a DOT SAP (Substance Abuse Professional). I offer counseling for those who have had a DOT violation and want to get back to work.
Premarital Counseling (PREP)
I have been providing premarital counseling since 1985. Couples who choose counseling before they marry learn how to communicate and resolve conflict, manage their money, understand roles and responsibilities, the importance of family and friends, leisure and sexuality. Men and women are different; understanding those differences is important.
