When people call me, it's usually because they've reached a point where whatever is happening is hard to manage alone. Most often, it is a difficult call to make. The circumstances couldn't be more personal and the idea of talking to a stranger, however professional, is a daunting bridge to cross. They make that call when their accustomed solutions no longer work or only make them feel worse. They want help to solve what otherwise seems unsolvable, to manage what seems unmanageable, to get support during a crisis or grappling with a loss. They want to figure out how to feel better.
While, together, we first make sure that you have the supports that you need, we then work on the more meaningful task of figuring out how you got here. The answers are in your story and in how we are able to work together to deepen the way you know it.
I have a psychodynamic approach. It has been my experience that the perceived mysteries of our current dilemmas and difficulties are rooted in the trajectories and narratives of our whole lives. I offer a collaboration in which you might be able to know yourself better and choose differently.
