I can help. I enjoy guiding clients to peel away trauma responses that keep them stuck. My clients often say the questions I ask unlock new frontiers of exploration. This enables us to identify and dismantle the hidden road blocks to meaningful change. I am deeply inquisitive and relational, offering a safe space to more fully be, and explore, yourself, no matter who you are.
PsychodynamicaIly oriented, I provide long-term therapy that draws upon the new modality Emotion Focused Therapy. This enables us to work with the nervous system responses that arise in real life. I have a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation led by “The Body Keeps the Score” author Bessel van Der Kolk.
Having worked at a methadone clinic, my approach to trauma is well informed by best practices in addiction treatment and social justice. I am passionately anti-racist. Additionally, my background as an athlete and writer provides ample life experience when discussing the oft elusive issues of building self love, resilience, and exploring issues of identity.
