Addiction can be confusing. It may feel irrational to continue a behavior that is self destructive. If it is not easy to stop, it may be addiction. A history of traumatic experiences and maladaptive behaviors may feel permanent. They are not. There is life beyond problems and addiction. I can help you sort through confusing thoughts and determine if what you suffer from is an addiction. I can also help determine whether or not treatment is necessary and advise you on options.
I am a certified EMDR therapist. EMDR is used for the processing of traumatic experiences. It can also be used as a performance enhancer, to reduce cravings, to feel safe, to control pain, such as with migraine headaches, among many possible applications.
I bring over 30+ years of active involvement in the recovery community. I truly understand the pitfalls and challenges of recovery as well as the joys and gifts that come when the addictive process is interrupted. Addiction is a condition that requires re-balancing mind, body, and spirit.
