When a person is ready for change, they are aware of feelings, thoughts and behaviors they can address in themselves to make progress happen. They have identified whether they can work by themselves or with others to change a difficult situation, or if they need to accept the current situation for what it is. I enjoy helping children, adolescents, adults and their families work toward this place of change and acceptance together. With humor, support and a neutral stance, I help individuals identify and obtain healthy life choices for themselves.
I received my training in Clinical Psychology in the Child Clinical Specialty Track at St. John's University in NY. I am a doctoral level psychologist, licensed and working in the mental health field for over twenty years. Cognitive-behavioral therapy and family systems therapy are my treatment orientations.
I enjoy working with anxiety, depression, trauma, academic issues, parenting issues and life transitions. In addition, I have special interests in working with children who are gifted and talented, or who have chronic illnesses. I believe collaboration with families, schools, and other professionals is critical to treatment success.
