I enjoy working with clients of all ages, genders, orientations, and backgrounds as they navigate through the challenges of life. I believe that everyone's story is unique and that it needs to be told in a comfortable and safe place, free of judgement. Many of the clients I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, vulnerable, afraid of making changes, and/or wondering how they will make it through the unexpected changes they are faced with. Some have experienced trauma. I help clients understand why they are suffering from certain symptoms as well as help them identify maladaptive thinking and coping skills.
I use a conversational style grounded in empathy and practicality. I prefer using strength-based approaches including Person Centered, Solution Focused, Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients identify, utilize and increase personal strengths to resolve difficult circumstances and manage their emotions.
I use my professional experience as a therapist, school behavior specialist, and life coach, as well as life experiences to listen to your story and help you find and sustain hope as well as a sense of purpose.
