I have been a therapist in private practice for 14 years and love what I do. I value your right to self-determination and will work closely with you to identify and clarify your goals. I will begin therapy where you are and move at a pace that you are comfortable with. This is not to say that there won't be times when I will challenge your thinking, offer new perspective and push for change, but I will always attempt to do so in a constructive, thoughtful and supportive manner.
I have experience working with trauma survivors, the mentally ill, homeless women, impoverished youth, grieving families, LGBTQ identified individuals, medically fragile children and adolescents. I also have a passion for working with children with special needs and their families as well as a lot of experience with Autism Spectrum disorders.
I believe what makes my practice unique is my training and background as a Social Worker. In my practice I take a "person-in-environment" approach that involves a thorough consideration and investigation of the biological, psychological and social factors that may be affecting a person's functioning and well being.
