My name is Jay Mosoff. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I take an individualized approach to therapy by choosing therapeutic interventions that are best suited to my clients and their goals. I believe in unconditional positive regard and focus on anxiety and how it underlies depression and many other problems. I also love working with couples and families! Our sessions are a collaboration. I believe we all do the best we can and communicate that attitude in various ways. All in all, I work to create an environment where clients feel safe.
I enjoy working with adults who are motivated to make positive changes. That covers many different and sometimes difficult problems including anxiety, depression, dissatisfaction with major life choices, communication problems, low self-esteem, and low self-confidence. I also love my work with couples and families.
I seek to understand my clients. I offer unconditional positive regard. I listen, reflect on what I understand, and validate feelings. I ask questions to clarify. I've been told that I have a lot of patience. I agree with that! I'm calm and relaxed.
