People come to me for all kinds of reasons — something that happened, sadness or grief, discomfort, their work, a relationship, or being told by someone close that they should. Some don't have a problem — they're curious, or they already value therapy. Many of the people I work with are capable and intelligent. Sometimes our strongest attributes can also be the thing that impedes other domains of our life. I find our strengths rarely need to be blunted; applying intention and considered choices often fosters the change we're looking for.
My approach is pragmatic and draws heavily on Carl Rogers and client-centered therapy: I follow the person in front of me rather than impose a program. There's no fixed agenda for each session — the techniques I draw on shift with the person and the moment.
I'm deliberate about what and how I document, so your information stays better protected. You're welcome to reach out with a question or to request a consultation — up to 15 minutes, with no forms or preparation needed. A first session is scheduled from there.
