Seeking help for mental health concerns can be a frightening task. It took courage to seek help, taking the first step toward making things better. The next step is to find a therapist who is a good fit for you. To that end, I am here to help. My name is Jason Smith, Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the state of Florida. I work primarily with young adults and adolescents addressing issues dealing with others and being happy with themselves. It is never too late to make your life better.
I use a teamwork approach where together we can help you reach your goals for yourself. You re the expert of your history and what you wish to achieve. I provide tools to overcome obstacles such as mental barriers, framing to clarify goals and help identify coping and support systems to help maintain improvements.
My goal is for you to feel this therapy is client-centered in terms of your needs, your strengths and using tools tailored to your interests and lifestyle. Even such things as hobbies, creative outlets, and sources of entertainment can be tools for teaching as means of healing. Together we can work toward a better tomorrow, one step at a time.
