I work within a relational psychoanalytic framework. That means I hold a theory of psychotherapy based an understanding of the human mind as integrally connected to the significant relationships in our life, going back to early childhood, and the ways those relationships shape our sense of self. Your task is to express yourself freely, mine to listen with a commitment to understanding you without judgement, attending to the whole of your experience. Over time, I believe it is this experience of being seen, heard and understood which creates the possibility for recovery, growth, and transformation.

I provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My areas of special training and expertise include trauma, mindfulness intervention, and working with survivors of violence, abuse, and neglect and with people in recovery from drugs and/or alcohol.

My background includes training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), for use with young children and their caregivers; Attachment Self-regulation & Competence (ARC) Therapy, for school-aged children; Interpersonal Psychotherapy for adults; Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT); and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. I am also a certified yoga teacher and Zen meditation practitioner.
