I'm a therapist with 20 years of experience helping adults and adolescents with grief, trauma, mental health, sex and sexuality, problematic substance use, behavioral addictions, and many other concerns. I use a harm reduction approach to substance use. I am open-minded and non-judgmental, and LGBTQ+ allied. I primarily meet with clients using the HMSA online care platform, and can also accommodate other Telehealth options. I can work with clients who are residents of Virginia, Oregon, and Hawaii, or who live overseas.
Many people who abuse substances or engage in other addictive behaviors experience judgment and stigma related to their use. Rather that take on an all or nothing approach, I find that many benefit from a harm reduction approach, that is trying to find a way in which one's relationship to substances or other addictions, can be managed in a realistic way.
