About
I want to be your support in your journey of recovery. This is not going to be an easy journey but together we are stronger than alone. Trauma is often (but not always) at the root of difficulty in relationships, inability to manage anger, and addiction. If you have the desire to change Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) may be the treatment for you. I come from a Person Centered perspective in my approach to talk therapy which underscores accurate empathy and positive regard. For couples I utilize Prepare/Enrich (Google it) after assisting clients in identifying trauma "triggers" affecting their relationship.
EMDR therapy is one of the most widely researched and reputable forms of therapy used to assist in resolving traumatic memories. It helps to get to the root of what caused us to think differently about ourselves and others. It also assists in allowing clients to work through trapped emotions in their minds and bodies such as fear, pain, and regret.
