For 10 years I have worked in mental health with individuals and families working through existential questions, difficult interpersonal issues and their changing sense of self. Often, we rely on tricks and tools that have assisted in the past to deal with new problems. This becomes a problem when these tricks and tools no longer work. The modalities that I utilize when working with a client is a blend of psychodynamic therapy, intersectionality, liberation psychology, and relational therapy. I work across the life cycle with children, teenagers, adults and the aging.
The goal when a client and I work together is that we are co-creating a space when the client feels heard, seen and validated. My specialties include but are not limited to working with people in transition (“adolescence or middle age”), LBGTQIA+ affirming therapy, neurodiversity, kink awareness, sex positivity and BIPOC.
You contain multitudes, my job is guide you in understanding the multiple facets that you hold inside of you. While you are on your reflective journey, you will change and gain more tools to work with pressing issues. I applaud you on your journey of seeking therapy, this is the one of the most significant steps one can take when approaching self-care.
