I am a licensed professional Counselor, CMHC in the state of Utah. I enjoy therapy and have been a professional in this field for over 10 years. Throughout my professional career, I have come to learn that perspective is a tool that often gives rise to insight. Something that I have adopted over the years and tried to make mine is the idea that when one changes the way that they look at things, the things they look at change. By and large, change is painful and can be difficult. But I know through personal and professional experience that most things are usually difficult before they are easy.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), narrative therapy (NT) and other approaches. I have seen people confront and redefine personal traumas and heal from threatening addictions by giving voice to unmet needs.
I can be bold, direct, and I see confrontation when necessary as an opportunity for growth. However, I generally am well liked and approachable, easy to work with and caring.
