About
I received my training in psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. My aim in therapy is to help create an environment of openness for clients to explore their experiences and gently provide support to deepen insight, develop understanding, and cultivate compassion. I specialize in working with adults, who are having challenges with their relationships, who have had difficult upbringings, and persons in early or long-term recovery. I have extensive experience working with issues related to co-dependency, relational trauma, grief, adverse childhood experiences and growing up around alcoholism or mental illness.
My training in meditation and Buddhist psychology contribute profoundly to the way I work and allows me to harness present moment awareness and openness with clients. My therapeutic perspective is rooted in the notion that we are all inherently intelligent, wise and capable of relating to life’s many challenges.
Through individual counseling, you will learn how to relate differently to thoughts, emotions and behaviors that get in your way. Some of the therapeutic models and perspectives I work with include contemplative psychotherapy, attachment theory, gestalt therapy, IFS/parts work, somatic work, mindfulness and meditation.
