Hi there! My name is Jackie, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT148173) in California and I want to tell you a little bit about myself so that you can have a sense of what working with me might feel like for you. To begin, I like people to know that I became a therapist after the healing I personally found being in your shoes, wanting help in therapy. The reason I like to share this about myself is so that you can see that I am a human, just like you. I know what it is like to hurt, worry, grieve, and struggle - I also know that doing those things alone is much harder.
The different approaches you’ll see me take or theories that I use in session vary depending on what you, the client or couple, need. I tend to gravitate toward theories such as Client-Person Centered Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Gottman Theory.
My whole life I have always been passionate about world peace. I became a therapist (after my first career in teaching) because I found that world peace can be achieved when we find peace in our own inner world (mind, body, soul). I want people to experience a safe connection with me so that they too can have peace.
