I work with couples, individuals and families. I was born and raised in Japan and speak Japanese as well as English. I've been trained in grief & loss issues, as well as trauma issues. I'm a certified EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy:http://www.laceft.org/) therapist and also a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. I am also trained in a very effective and deep processing model called, AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy).

I have joy, passion, and success working with minority, biracial, and 1st generation/immigrants who experience challenges adjusting to blended families and new/blended cultures. I help my clients identify reasonable solutions to current challenges and we collaborate to create coping skills that build resilience and allow you to thrive. Life at times can seem like a roller coaster with all of its twists and turns. The inevitable ups and downs with no clear direction can leave us feeling lost. Unforeseen events throw us around for a loop, reminding of us of the uncertainties and whimsical nature of life. Depression, anxiety, feelings of helpless or being left behind can shortly follow. Other times, the opposite is true. Staleness, stagnation, and the far too predictable aspects can lock us down. Is more structure the answer? Or is it more flexibility?
