Announcement icon I am currently working fully remotely via tele-health due to Covid-19. I see patients remotely who reside all across NJ, NY and FL.

About

I am an individual/couples/family psychotherapist working via telehealth across all of NJ, NY, and FL. I work with patients utilizing a client-centered approach in order to manage life transitions, heal from trauma, gaining insight into past experiences, and ultimately, improving coping skills for managing strenuous emotions. I have strong experience working with various ages and conditions including trauma, anxiety and depression. I have practiced clinical work in multiple settings. I have plentiful experience working with adults struggling with relational issues such as ADHD, understanding trans-generational trauma and depression.
I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I have worked in a variety of mental health settings/levels including residential, inpatient and outpatient. I use holistic modalities such as guided imagery, meditation, and breathwork.
You are the expert on you. I believe the basis of any good therapy experience lies within the groundwork of the therapeutic alliance between the clinician and the client.

Janine Sabot's Groups

Parents to Children with a Mental Health Diagnosis

Many children/adolescents struggle with mental health diagnoses. This can range anywhere from having extensive histories of trauma to emerging personality disorders. The missing component is the imperative work with the caregiver in responding to these challenging behaviors. Caregivers can benefit from guidance and psycho-education around their child's diagnosis, how it affects their family unit, and appropriate parenting responses. This group is for parents who are looking for skill-building and requiring further psycho-education around their child’s physiological/behavioral responses. I utilize components from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Evidence-Based Family Skills and a Strengths-Based Approach.
