I believe that clients have within themselves an amazing ability to self-heal, and the role of the counselor is to find and tap into that ability. I also believe it is important to learn about each client's world and to develop a relationship where clients can feel understood and supported while learning about themselves. This creates the space for exploring the choices they have and any changes they may want to make toward more personal fulfillment. Therapy for children may involve consultation with parents who need support meeting their child's challenges. Play therapy is used with children.
Adult therapy consists of exploring client strengths as well as vulnerabilities in order to use the client strengths to address problems. Clients can learn strategies that help them deal with the challenges before them. Parents of children with challenges can be important partners in therapy for their children.
I have completed and use 'Level II Gottman Couples Therapy: a Research-Based Approach' for working with couples in my practice. Evaluations in my scope of practice include ADHD for children and adults, Child and Adult Depression and Anxiety, and Substance Abuse and Dependency evaluations, not a full psychological evaluation.

LLPC Supervision Group
This group is for Limited Licensed Professional Counselors who need supervision while working towards full licensure. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and meet national and Michigan standards for supervision. Some video sessions are also available, per current licensing requirements.
