I have been practicing in the field of mental health since 1989. I work with adults and offer both individual and couples counseling. I provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can expect to experience empathy, along with meaningful connection. I work holistically, recognizing that real change occurs from the outside in as well as the inside out. I want to help clients examine how they view themselves and change things (thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors and relationship dynamics) that no longer work for them. I treat depression, anxiety, complex trauma and relationship issues. I also work with First Responders.
I have been trained in EMDR, DBT, and in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have extensive experience working with couples and with individuals who are going through significant and stressful life experiences. Some examples include recovering from grief and loss, divorce, complex trauma and changing devastating patterns of sexual acting out behavior.
I have deep empathy and a genuine sense of respect and wonder for this human experience. Embedded within each of us is the fundamental ability to heal and to change our lives. Counseling is a grand adventure that begins with finding the right therapeutic fit.
