Are you motivated to change your life to reach your full potential? My goal oriented approach is to listen and help you identify your plan of action. Awareness is key to managing change and increasing self esteem. Depending on the issues that bring you to therapy I will tailor the process to meet your needs. Most of my clients are dealing with major Life Transitions. Each transition you go through presents its own challenges as well as Gifts. I offer support, feedback, and a professional perspective to help you successfully navigate your transition.

Clients who come to me are dealing with symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, sadness or feeling stuck. Some are struggling with substance abuse, weight issues and other health concerns. During Life Transitions it can be difficult to maintain a sense of Balance. We will focus on coping strategies to help you deal with these transitions.

If you are dealing with relationship or work issues we will focus on helping you understand self defeating behaviors or attitudes that interfere with good communication and interactions with others. We will work on developing healthy habits with the focus on your personal success. Please feel free to contact me for an initial consultation.

Janet E Shoemaker's Groups

Women in Transition

The focus of this group is in short; self esteem, career, relationships, health and sexuality. It is an opportunity for added support and skill building for women as they are redefining their roles. Over the past twenty years I have run many of these groups and found them to be inspiring and affirming for participants. Starting in October this will be an ongoing group. If you are interested in learning more please call me to set up an initial consultation.

Teachers in Transition

Being a teacher today is different than even a few years ago. The demands are growing and can seem overwhelming. So often teachers are undervalued by their administrators, students, the parents, as well as the towns. This group is designed for teachers who want to learn strategies for coping with the added stress of administrative changes and more complex students with the myriad of issues they bring to the classroom. It will be a place to get/give solid, constructive support, and share concerns, and frustrations. Come learn how to take better care of yourself & feel renewed. A new group will begin in September 2018.
