My practice is geared towards providing counseling services to young children (with a focus on age 2-4), as well as clients recovering from issues related to COMPLEX trauma. I am a Registered Play Therapist, Certified Animal-Assisted Play Therapist (accompanied by a therapy dog and a therapy cat), and a Somatic EMDR Practitioner. I am trained in SMART (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy), developed for children with complex trauma, and I am certified as a Drumbeat facilitator.
I primarily utilize play therapy w/children, with the integration of therapies developed specifically for complex trauma. I incorporate expressive arts (art, music, sand tray, etc.) into the counseling process w/older children/adults. I am trained in HRV biofeedback, which can help clients develop self-regulation capacities to better manage chronic stress.
I am accepting new clients on a case by case basis only. New clients MUST BE: 1) 4yrs or younger, 2) a foster or adopted child seeking counseling related to trauma OR 3) a person of any age seeking counseling to address COMPLEX trauma issues. Groups
Drumbeat Summer Group 2023 - Enrolling Now
This 10-session summer 2023 group is for current foster children and adopted children or children living with family members/in kinship care due to parental abuse/neglect or DFPS involvement. Drumbeat incorporates the use of hand-drumming to facilitate improved social/coping skills. EMAIL to inquire about participation. Children who are not current clients must complete an assessment prior to participation and have permission from their current therapist if they are in therapy. Materials for this group have been funded through a grant from Superior Health Plan.
