In my practice I am dedicated to working on the complexities of single life, creating and sustaining romantic partnerships, meaningful careers, and happier family lives. I believe in staying ambitious for our psychological, emotional, relational and material selves. In that pursuit, we will explore old patterns and worries that inhibit those ambitions. We will create new expectations, based on the evidence we gather about our ability to move ahead and lead more satisfying lives. The work happens through an exploration of current relationships, as well as sorting through the early emotional experiences that inform them.
I see psychotherapeutic work as deeply collaborative and profoundly interesting. Therapy engages our curiosity about ourselves in the service of change. My style is active and engaged, and I work to closely pace the therapy to my clients' needs, especially those struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma histories.
I consider myself an integrative therapist, incorporating psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive behavioral theory into my work, as well as staying apprised of new findings in psychological science. When medications are deemed appropriate, I can help clients navigate relationships with medical personnel and psychiatrists in order to find the most effective treatments.
