I have helped many individuals learn how to use tools & coping strategies to reduce and eliminate depression, anxiety, postpartum, stress due to work, parenting, care-giving, midlife issues & an "empty nest". I also have helped individuals deal with their feelings of grief due to loss, infertility, and divorce.
I specialize in eating disorders and have helped individuals reduce & eliminate binge eating & bulimic symptoms. I had the unique opportunity to work with Dr. Albert Stunkard & Dr. Kelly Brownell, at the University of Pennsylvania, who are world renowned for their research on Obesity. I also facilitated weight loss groups using Optifast.
At Penn, we studied cognitive behavioral strategies for weight control, how to increase motivation to exercise in everyday life, and gastric bypass surgery. My PhD. dissertation research was on the effects of dieting and "restrained eating" on weight loss and how binge eating can be prevented.
