Does your child have worries and fears, social anxiety, or reluctance being away from you? Do you or your child experience intrusive anxious thoughts or engage in ritualistic behaviors? Do you worry too much or avoid situations that make you uncomfortable? Anxiety is very common in children, teens, and adults. Two out of ten children experience anxiety that is significant enough to interfere with their lives. Exposure therapy, a type of CBT, has been shown to be the most effective therapy for anxiety. Learning and practicing mindfulness skills can also be very helpful for children, teens, and adults with anxiety.
I specialize in treating children, adolescents, and adults with OCD, Anxiety Disorders, and OCD Related Disorders. The treatment approaches I use are evidence-based, meaning that they have been found to be effective in scientific research studies. These therapies include CBT, ERP, Mindfulness, ACT, and Habit Reversal Training.
I have over 30 years experience as a child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapist, with extensive post-graduate training in treating OCD and other Anxiety Disorders. In 2007 I completed BTTI training through the International OCD Foundation, and in 2013 I attended a pediatric OCD training workshop through the same organization.
