Hi, I’m Jan Quirl, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience in independent practice. I enjoy helping clients through difficult times in their lives and I work together with them to help create the kind of life they want to live. I have 30 years of experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, breakups, divorce, anger management and LGBT issues. Ive been a strong advocate and ally for the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m an art therapist having completed two years at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and a Spiritual Counselor with a Master’s of Divinity degree from Austin Presby
In our first session, I’ll introduce myself, inquire about any previous therapy experiences and ask clients to describe what has brought them to therapy. We’ll review the initial paperwork and I’ll answer any questions clients may have. In addition, we’ll begin to set achievable goals together. We’ll also begin to see if we’re a good therapy match.
I’m a good listener, as well as warm, compassionate, and supportive. I bring all my experience and knowledge as a therapist as well as connect deeply. I love what I do, and very much enjoy seeing my clients grow and change over time. I’m honest in exploring the underlying issues clients may have. I also have a good sense of humor.
