In my counseling role, I see myself as a fellow traveler on your path to wellness – someone to help you see, and use your strengths – and to cultivate peace in your life. I practice according to a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) model, which means I think we can develop emotional tools, skills, and strategies that can have a big impact on our lives, our relationships, and the way we feel. At the heart of all my work is a firm belief in mindful self compassion - not excuse making; rather a balanced view of self, and our connection to a common humanity.
My practice is a judgment-free zone. We can confront the stuff that's hard to discuss with others. I believe that shame is a deeply destructive. If you have it, I can help you dismantle it in favor of emotional skills for healing.
It takes courage and effort to find a counselor who's a good fit. I'll always respect that, and work to ensure that we don't waste your time, or money, or energy. I invite you to reach out and see if I'm the right person to support you in your path to wellness.
