My goal is to create a safe place for you to explore, learn, and create a new way of being in relationships and the world. I specialize in working with individuals and families that have been impacted by traumatic experiences, complex grief, attachment and relationship ruptures. Loss often involves trauma and trauma always involves grief. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
I have 20 years of experience with adoptive families and kinship placements. My approach is attachment focused identifying emotional need underlying challenging behaviors. My goal is to increase connection and redo developmental stages interrupted by complex trauma. I work with every member of the adoption triad including search and reunion issues.
I have a special interest in working with parents feeling overwhelmed and stuck in patterns of reactivity. It's hard to talk to friends or family members about the lack of joy or imbalance of struggle in parenting. I strive to provide a nonjudgmental approach and positive regard for every individual. I'm a trained Circle of Security parenting facilitator.
