As my favorite Peloton instructor would say, “The toughest part is check: done.” While that may not be 100% true depending on the circumstance, you still made a courageous choice. You took the first step in your healing journey, which I imagine took a lot of thought and deliberation. It takes considerable strength and insight to recognize we might need some additional support. I’m grateful you came across my page.
I have a wide range of experience, working in residential treatment centers, schools, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, prisons, and have significant experience working with veterans in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. clients across the lifespan, as a great deal of my graduate training was with children, adolescents, and families.
In therapy sessions, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment, which I believe is a prerequisite for healing. I see the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, as you are the expert of yourself (whether you believe that yet or not)! My role is to facilitate deeper insight and the lessening of suffering or discomfort.
