Life is full of relationships, experiences, and events that impact us and ultimately shape who we are and how we interact with the others in the world. I strive to join with my patients to work through the challenging and painful things in life so that together we can move towards greater understanding. The relationship between patient and therapist creates the foundation essential to explore and ultimately work through these difficulties that cause pain and struggle. In order to move towards healing we need to feel heard, understood, and accepted just as we are.
I draw from vast educational and clinical experiences. From an internship at a Women's Correctional Facility in Baltimore, to work at two prominent Eating Disorder treatment centers, to post graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, I strive to meet patients where they are at as they uncover parts of themselves.
I am a Psychodynamically oriented therapist. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma through the use of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and am Level I certified. It is a body-centered approach for treating trauma. Currently, I am also a candidate in Psychoanalysis at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
