I have always desired to work in the field of counseling, supporting individuals on their path to understanding their feelings, behaviors, and thoughts in order to make changes and explore solutions. In my work as a pediatric infant mental health specialist and behavioral therapist, I have had opportunity to support diverse needs ranging from challenging behaviors, anxiety, depression, PTSD, domestic violence, relationship issues, and adverse experiences
My experiences in pediatric mental health, adolescent, adult, and family trauma have assisted in my professional role as a counselor, deepening my drive to help individuals who have experienced trauma and adversity. I believe that developing skills in recognizing healthy emotions and thoughts can bridge the healing process to supporting healthy behaviors.
Person centered approach best suites my theoretical orientation. I use an integration of eclectic modalities to assist in the treatment of clients including play therapy, cognitive process therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotion focused therapy.
