I have over 20 years of experience working in the field of trauma, addiction recovery, attachment issues and other life stressors. I draw on a variety of evidenced based therapeutic interventions, and incorporate somatic/body-based experiences to help people identify, release, and heal from trauma. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University, completed my Master's of Social Work from Tulane University, and obtained my licensure in 2004. I am experienced and trained as an Approved Clinical Supervisor to both LCSWA and LPCA interns.
I have extensive experience and training from working in a variety of settings including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care. Having had experience in all of these settings gives me an uncanny ability to see that all components of ones' life are interrelated.
I work toward creating a safe environment that facilitates connection. I believe that we all do our best to cope with life's challenges. Allowing someone to face those challenges with you can be one of the hardest aspects of starting psychotherapy. Finding the right therapist is essential and it takes an enormous amount of courage to begin the process
