Welcome! My name is Jamesia Smith and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Throughout my career, I have mostly worked with those struggling with communication issues, anger, stress, anxiety, and depression concerns. My approach is to provide support & practical feedback to help you effectively address personal & professional life stressors. With compassion & understanding, I work with each individual to help build on their strengths & attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. I usually use Cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy.
For each client, my goal is for you to enjoy coming to therapy, participate and be consistent with coming to each session. Progress doesn’t always look linear. It can be ups and down, as set backs are normal. I am an effective listener, and my communication style is Participatory and empowering.
