I am originally from Virginia but have also lived in Arkansas and Texas. I am the father of five adult children and the husband to a wife of many years. I worked in blue collar fields before and during my counseling training, painting houses and repairing mechanical components aboard Navy war ships. Since college I have been in private counseling practice, worked at a psychiatric hospital, detention center, group home, and home for adults with head injuries, served as church counselor and education director, and taught psychology courses at multiple universities in Texas and Arkansas.
