Trauma is any experience that negatively changes how you see yourself, others, or the world. With that definition in mind, trauma is very specific to you and it has nothing to do with being "weak" or "strong." It's your nervous system trying to figure out how to stay safe. Sometimes the strategies it developed were the best available at the time, even when they're no longer serving you. Healing doesn't mean becoming someone different. It means building a foundation your nervous system can trust so that being out in the world feels less like exposure and more like choice. That's feeling comfortable inside and outside of your shell
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, attachment-informed, and whole person affirming. I partner with you in healing wounds from past experiences, managing distress, and learning to feel comfortable inside and outside your shell. I'm trained in several theories and modalities that I use to tailor the therapy specific to your needs.
Relationships with others and with ourselves can be difficult. That's where my expertise comes in as a partner to you and your expertise on yourself and your relationships with others. This collaborative approach will help you live the life you want.
