About
Whether you are in a marriage that is struggling, having a problem personally with substances, or just need some help clearing out the clutter in your life, my approach to counseling comes from many different counseling theories. I believe that it is important to focus on the here and now, emphasizing future actions, behaviors, and thoughts, rather than deeply exploring the past. While the past has brought us where we are today, how you believe today and how you act today is of more importance. I believe in being directive and intentional in all aspects of therapy.
I am very good at cutting through all the "crap" in life and getting to the heart of the problem. When working with relationship situations, I believe personal responsibility is the key to happiness. I help you become more responsible for what you are contributing to the relationship.
When receiving counseling, it is important to to find a counselor who meets you exactly where you are in life and gives you what you need through multiple proven techniques, not just with one specific technique.
