I practice psychotherapy out of my home in Los Angeles under my MFT license, California BBS 90737. I specialize in treating intellectually and creatively gifted clients, as well as all manner of LGBT folk and anyone in psychological distress. I work with a lot of creatively and intellectually gifted clients; in fact, it's a specialization of mine. I have helped a lot of clients transition out of marijuana abuse into a more productive way of living with self-care.
I work in the humanistic, client-centered tradition pioneered by Carl Rogers and Gene Gendlin. I am well-versed in family systems, Gestalt, and Attachment Theory as well. I'm now twenty-two years in recovery and have an extensive background in treating targets of domestic violence, substance use disorders, and many forms of experiential "stuckness."
My work is resolutely client-centered, meaning that I sincerely believe the client is always the expert on their own life; after all, they're the person living it! I do a great deal of specialized listening in the Rogerian and Experiential Focusing traditions. I bring tremendous respect and a belief in my clients' self-actualization.
