We are all born whole, in lovingkind perfection. But life produces obstacles that sidetrack our becoming ourselves. Obstacles take any forms: trauma in the body, inauthentic identities, existential fears, beliefs indoctrinated but in conflict with one's essential values, or anxiety that something is wrong with oneself. The result can be alienation, grief, substance use issues, depression, anxiety, difficulty connecting, or incapacity to speak or create from the heart. Reconnecting with ones body, the natural world, and with an unconditional community are the foundations re-emerging into the Self you've always been.

Holistic therapy helps identify, understand and remove the obstacles blocking one's natural movement towards authenticity and wholeness. Depth psychotherapy uses various mediums and methods to reconnect with oneself, or, as in couples counseling, each other. Dream analysis, art. meditation, movement, role play, and exploring archetypes are common tools.

James Francis Gallagher Jr.'s Groups

Men's Trauma & Addiction Process Group

Many men who struggle with substance use disorders also suffer from trauma, repeating fight, flight or freeze responses when exposed to similar triggering events. Trauma from violent childhood experience often create adaptations (defenses mechanism) to keep one safe from violence or harm, and these defenses are embedded and repeated in adult relationships. In order to recover from substance use disorder. one must feel safe enough in a group or with others to gain support. This small group (max 5 members), while practicing harm reduction methodology, is committed to maintaining safety, promoting accountability, and becoming attuned to somatic experiences in relationships.
