About

Dr. James (Jim) English earned both his Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. For the past 28 years, he has been working with adolescents and adults, as well as couples and families in both in-patient and out-patient settings. He is always involved in continuing education and learning so that he can “always provide the best service possible to the individuals that I am privileged to work with.” Jim’s primary focus when initiating therapy is to establish open and collaborative relationships. He views the process as one where people learn to access strengths and relationships.
Experience and training with anxiety, mood disorders, and bereavement/grief enable him to work with clients dealing with a variety of significant life challenges. He has found that therapy can help with various challenges we are facing, as learning to tap into insights and strengths that enable us to deal with these challenges.
Dr. English has been trained to utilize treatment techniques derived from dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and CBT. Training in solution-focused and emotionally-focused therapy informs his work with couples and families.
