, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing therapy now for 40 years both with a physical office and for the last 2 years online. I live in St. Augustine, Fl. At this point in my career I am working exclusively with adults. Over the years I have worked with my clients on such issues as Anxiety and Panic attacks, Depression, PTSD, Self Esteem problems, Borderline Personality, and marital issues. The kinds of therapy I use most frequently include EMDR, EFT, Gestalt therapy, and Hypnosis. I have also incorporated my long time meditation practice along with my love for Buddhism into my use of Mindfulness therapy.
I work with clients who have either been through traumas or painful loses with EMDR and EFT as they help rid clients of their traumatic memories, the troubling emotions connected to them ,and inaccurate and distorted ideas about themselves because of the trauma. My use of Hypnosis helps clients relax and build in helpful and positive ways of thinking.
The use of various therapies really depends on the unique needs and goals of the client. Most importantly, I try and develop a theraputic relationship that is kind, compassionate, and when appropriate, includes a sense of humor. As a long term cancer survivor,I work especially well with those who have serious illness or chronic pain.
