I provide neurodiversity-affirming care to adults with ADHD or other neurodivergence, and can provide perspective from training/research and my lived experience. I specialize in working with men, and have studied the ways that masculinity can complicate emotional and mental health. I take an eclectic, client-centered, evidence-based approach that works to find a balance between current research and individual preferences and learning/interaction styles. In therapy I prioritize building skills that help you relate to yourself, your emotions, and your thoughts in more effective ways, while also exploring why current patterns formed.
I pride myself in my deep sense of empathy, and have been told often that I have a calming, nonjudgmental presence that helps my clients feel safe and heard. I have 9 years of experience in the mental health field, often treating clients at their most difficult moments, and I use that experience to help my clients move through challenging times safely.
I believe strongly in the power of counseling to change lives: I'm in this field because I've experienced it firsthand. I also know that reaching out for help can be challenging, especially when you're struggling. You're already making progress towards change by starting this search and being on here! I would love to help you continue that journey.
