I am the owner of SA Counseling, PLLC and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, helping my clients foster autonomy, empowerment, well-being and healing. I work with adolescents, adults and couples dealing with a wide variety of issues including anxiety & depression, trauma, abuse, grief, PTSD, marital problems, adjustment disorders and more. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with many of my clients, particularly when addressing trauma. Currently, I am doing teletherapy should you desire to see a counselor online.
Due to my unique background, I often work with clients desiring to implement spirituality into the therapeutic process. Always working from within the client’s faith tradition, we are able to address grief, trauma, anxiety and depression. I take seriously the belief that God is the ultimate source of healing and well-being.
I obtained an MA, MDiv, and PhD in Biblical Studies/Hebrew Bible and am an Adjunct Professor and author. A few of my books include: Monotheism and Yahweh’s Appropriation of Baal (2015), Manifesting Peace: 12 Principles for Cultivating Peace, Healing & Wellness Distilled from the World’s Spiritual Traditions and Psychology (2019) and Extolling Yeshua (2019).
